    1. Jatinga- The valley of death

    Killings, sacrifices, suicides, and murders- these are understandable, right? But things are beyond all of this in Jatinga. This is an infamous petite village of Guwahati that is known for the mass killing of migratory birds.

    Jatinga is a very peaceful, beautiful and popular village of India. It is situated in the Guwahati region of Assam. This place is visited by a lot of people throughout the year, owing to its beauty. But in September and October, a patch of Jatinga is known for its bloodshed. Yes, you heard that right! Specifically in these two months, between 6 pm and 9:30 pm every year; you can witness the mass suicide of birds. There is a specific path of land or area where this kind of thing happens. And it doesn’t happen every night; but only the moonless nights.

    This has been happening for centuries now and no one has a clue about it. What causes this and why does it happen in a specific timeframe or in a particular area? Why does this happen to only the migratory birds? These questions are yet to be answered. Not just the locals but even the scientists from the world aren’t able to figure out the reason or the cause of this issue.

    2. Nagaon- The tale of the haunted house

    When you walk or drive through the Tarun Phukan Road; ask for the abandoned house- but at your own risk. This is a very old and creaky house that has been kept abandoned for a long time now. It is said that many people on multiple occasions have seen a girl roaming in the premises and around the place in close proximity. Locals also believe that this house is amongst the most dangerous places in Assam.

    The spirit of this teenage girl keeps roaming around the house because she was raped and murdered here. People also say that those who try to reside or reconstruct this place have seen catastrophe. The girl’s spirit haunts people who try to get inside. If you talk to the locals, they will also add that this spirit is known to be waiting for her revenge. Therefore, visiting this haunted place of Assam after evening will not be a good thing.

    3. Mayong- The black magic capital

    It is often said that black magic originated in India in many different parts. But what if we tell you that it is still being practised in many parts of West Bengal and North-East India. So, introducing you to the capital of black magic in India- Mayong. It is located in Assam and is known to be a place where a lot of people practice black magic. If you were to believe the locals living around the village, they also speak about how some people here worship the king of hell- Lucifer and his disciples.

    Located in the Morigaon District, Mayong is a small village where people still use the power of mantras to do things.     4. Bogijuli Camp in Nameri Forest Reserve

    Nameri Forest Reserve is one of the popular tourist destinations of Assam. It is a serene and quiet place in the state. But recently, people have experienced a lot of unnatural and spooky activities around the area. Especially in the Bogijuli Camp. This is a place located in the Sonitpur district of the state.

    5. The Banyan Tree of Puranigudam
