    Beautiful places lure people a lot but some of them can scare the hell out of you. And we ain’t joking about it! Pune is probably one of the most developed and advanced cities of India. It also possesses multiple attractions where people love to visit for enjoyment. But do you know, there are some eerie places where people have started visiting for fun. It is alright when you visit here during the time is given- but showing your bravery by visiting here at odd hours can be risky.

    So, if you are faint-hearted; read this blog like a story. But if you consider yourself as a braveheart, then try visiting any of these places. So, allow us to take you on a spooky ride to attractions of Pune that are normal places during the day but show their true colors when the sun sets.

    Haunted places in Pune that are not for the faint-hearted

    1. Shaniwarwada Fort

    Location: Shaniwar Peth, Pune, Maharashtra

    Timing: 9:30 am to 5 pm

    Shaniwarwada Fort is one of the prime locations of Pune where you will see hundreds of people visiting every day; during the peak season. But this fort, which was built in the 1740s by Peshwas, is said to be the most haunted sight of Pune.

    A lot of witnesses have said and confirmed that this haunted fort of Pune was a battlefield once. There were many assassinations, killings, and offerings made here. That’s the reason why it is termed as spooky.

    Also, there is another prominent story about this place: Narayan Rao Peshwa, a young prince, was murdered by his relatives to get to the throne. Narayan Rao Peshwa was said to be at an age of just 13 years, when he was killed.

    People who pass by, work, or live anywhere near the fort during the night have heard swords clashing, people shouting in fear and anger, and a complete environment of battle being prepared inside. It feels very frightening to hear the screams and shouts of people in pain.

    And there are people who said that they have heard a kid shouting for help and begging for his life. His fearful voice and cries could be heard even at long distance.

    2. Pune Cantonment

    Location: Pune Cantt. Pune, Maharashtra

    Over time, there have been a lot of battles fought in and around the place where Cantt. is built now. It is said that a lot of people lost their lives here in battles and other activities. There is no calculation of people who have been assassinated and killed here throughout the years.

    The visitors and others who live around here have complained about unearthly activities happening around. Not only people have seen things shifting from places but a lot of screams and sorrowful shouts have also been heard. Although these spirits have been harmless all these years, no one knows until places when this will be the case. Also, many visitors have also said that there is a sudden change in temperature when you enter the premises. Giving them a realisation of the presence of spirits and goosebumps too.

    3. Sinhgad Engineering College

    Location: Sinhgad Institutes, Sinhgad College of Engineering, S. No. 44/1, Vadgaon (Budruk), Off. Sinhgad Road, Pune 411 041, Maharashtra

    How confident will you feel after knowing that the college you study in is haunted and you should not visit some areas after the usual hours? Same is the case in Sinhgad Engineering College.

    Teachers and students of the college know all about this spooky place because this is exactly where everything happened. It is said that a student gave up on his studies and life because of constant failures. Even after trying harder than before, he wasn’t able to cope up with the other batchmates which is why he committed suicide.

    The student’s ghost has been sighted multiple times and that has scared the students a lot. There have also been a lot of instances when students in the class have felt a powerful slap on your face while taking classes. And a lot of unearthly activities have also been felt around the place. This is the reason why students are restricted from visiting the haunted area of the college after the daytime.

    4. Chandan Nagar

    Location: Chandan Nagar, Pune, Maharashtra

    Imagine a cute young girl with a doll in her hand, and black hair. Is that already bothering you? That’s the story of a girl who haunts Chandan Nagar during nights.

    What’s the story?

    Actually, there is no proof of any potential story about the girl. Who she is, why she is here. Nothing. That’s because whenever she is approached by someone, she bounces to different locations. Yes, you heard that right- she bounces.

    What’s spooky about this place?

    She not only stays away from people asking questions but also scares them a lot. What, from a distance looks like a cute lost girl, is actually a ghost. The girl has crooked limbs, a doll in her hand, scattered hair, and a devil smile. To top all this, the frock she wears has blood stains and her eyes are completely black. Does she sound friendly to you?

    5. Victory Theatre

    Location: 2429, East St, Opposite Kayani Bakery, Hulshur, Camp, Pune, Maharashtra

    Are you a hardcore fan of watching movies in the theatre? Then we would say, simply find somewhere else other than Victory Theatre in Pune.

    Again, there are different stories narrated by people around the theatre but one thing is for sure- it is spooky to visit here.

    A lot of occupants have felt and complained about the horror and devil smiles that are heard while watching the movie. People have also said that there were instances where their chairs started shaking and while they inspected, there was nothing to be found. Is it just an additional feature that this theatre is giving, or is there something unearthly here in this haunted place of Pune? You decide!
