There are multiple stories related to the fort and one amongst them that prevails strongly is about the queen (Rani Ratnawati) and a tantric. According to the sources, the queen of Bhangarh was blessed with eternal beauty and charm. In the city lived a tantric who got infatuated by the beauty of the queen and wanted to marry her. He knew it wouldn’t be possible in the right ways so he decided to take the help of his magic.
The tantric used his dark magic spell on a perfume that was used by the queen. But she was warned by one of her servants about this. So she threw the perfume bottle out of the window in anger. The bottle struck on a boulder which rolled and crushed the tantric. In his last breath, the Tantric cursed the entire place for its doom.

People have claimed sightings of many shadows and have heard screams of women. Some also claim to have heard the tantric cursing and shouting about the doom of the entire place. 2. Rana Kumbha Palace

It is in the legends that Sultan Khilji attacked the palace and killed the king in the battlefield by foul ways. All of this because he wanted to marry queen Padmini who was very beautiful.
When the queen got the news of her king’s death, she and 700 other women performed Jauhar in which all of the women to protect their honour jumped in the fire.

People have heard shouting and screams. There was a group of people who stayed inside the palace overnight and they heard someone asking for help. When one of them turned around, they saw a woman in royal attire with a burnt face asking for help. This freaked them out and the same things have been told by a few more people.
3. Kuldhara Village

This was a village that was established in the early 13th century near Jaisalmer city. Kuldhara was once a very prosperous and rich village that was filled with Paliwal Brahmins. But now it is an abandoned place and cursed too. It is said that the village has been abandoned since the early 19th century and has been the same till date. There have been trials of construction done in the place but all of it failed badly.

It is said that once this rich and prosperous village was thriving with Paliwal Brahmins who were also known to be one of the elite families in the country. Once the minister of the district, Salim Singh came to the village to collect the taxes and saw the sarpanch’s daughter (who was very beautiful.) He expressed his desire to marry the girl in front of her father. But according to the Indian culture of that time, the Brahmins did not marry their women other than a Brahmin family. Owing to this, the sarpanch refused to do so.
In rage, the minister warned the villagers to either ask the sarpanch to get his daughter marry him or the tax will be increased many folds. Additionally, the minister also said that he would forcefully marry a girl if the villagers didn’t agree. Seeing no other options, the entire village of Brahmins fled from the place in a single night. And not just one or two, people from all the 85 villages vanished overnight.

Actually, frankly speaking, there are a lot of mixed reactions of people here. The caretakers and guards of this place say that they haven’t found or heard anything unusual here all their life. But there are others who say that they have sighted ghosts and similar figures on their night stay (which is banned.)

It was once an excursion and party place for the king but over time the mahal deteriorated. It was once a 5 story building but 3 floors have now submerged underwater because of a lack of restoration.
