  • When you head out from the temple, it is advised not to look back because it brings bad luck and maybe attracts an evil spirit.

  • In honour of the deity it is also advised not to get clicked with it. You can click the diety’s pictures alone.

2. Kamakhya Devi Temple

  • The Kamakhya Devi Temple is closed every monsoon because it is said that the yoni (which is worshipped here) bleeds every year during this season.
  • The temple remains closed for 3 days to observe the bleeding cycle of the goddess.
  • It is also said that the water of the underground reservoirs also turns red during these 3 days.
  • And the devotees who visit here are given red coloured cloth that is used to cover the yoni of the goddess in the temple.

Timings: 10 am to 1 pm and 2:30 pm to 10 pm

  • The snana pooja timing is 5:30 am
  • The Nitya Pooja timing is 6:00 am
  • During the afternoon the temple gets closed for 1:30 hours to cook food for the devotees so that Prasad is distributed to them.
  • The evening aarti takes place during 7:30 pm

3. Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vaari Temple

  • The idol of the temple has real hair and they never get entangled.

  • It is also believed that Lord Venkateswara sat here for several years and then Turned himself into an idol.

  • The shrine of the temple is offered lots of cash, gold, demat shares, silver, jewelleries, and a lot of other valuable things by the devotees.
  • According to sources, it is known that the temple gets an offering of about 22.5 million every day.

4. Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple

  • The temple had 6 vaults and 5 amongst them have been opened already. The 6th vault according to the scriptures has a massive treasure.
  • But after multiple efforts and trials, the gate is still locked.
  • According to folklore, it is said that the temple’s gate is closed with a curse.

  • The first thing that people get to notice at the temple is the “Pataka” or the flag that is hoisted on the top of the temple. The face of the flag is always opposite to the wind flow.
  • Nobody knows how this came to existence, but it is said that the flag on the top of Jagannath Temple has to be changed every day. If it is missed due to any reason, the temple will have to be closed for 18 years as punishment.
  • Jagannath Temple is situated not far away from the coast. When you are outside the gates of the main temple, you get to hear the gurgling water. But as soon as you enter the main temple, there is a pin drop in silence.
  • The main temple is a huge building but without a shadow. Interestingly doesn’t it? No, it is mysterious and even scientists are unable to figure out the reason why.
  • One of the most mysterious things about Jagannath Temple is that there is never a surety about the number of devotees that will come to the temple on a day. But still, there is not even a grain of food wasted in the temple. Mysteriously, the food that is prepared in the morning feeds 1 lakh people on one day, and the same amount of food feeds 20000 people on the other. How is it possible; is still a mystery for even the cooks of the temple.
  • We have all heard a lot of times that God is above everyone and everything. Jagannath Temple takes it a bit further and nothing flies over the temple. Neither words nor any man-made object, absolutely nothing flies over the temple.
  • According to science, during the daytime, the breeze flows from the sea to the land and at night it goes vice versa. But at Jagannath temple, the daytime sees breeze flow from land to sea and at night vice-versa.
